Upon receiving your email or phone call inquiry about my services I will send you a brief questionnaire to learn more about you and your project. Once I’m able to review your information I will be in touch to schedule a quick phone call to become acquainted. During our conversation I will further explain my services and we will mutually decide if we would like to collaborate on the project. I will also discuss the project timeline, desired budget and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
step 1: inquire
Now that we have mutually agreed we are good fit, I will schedule a time to come to your home or project location. During the consultation I will walk through your space(s) with you and make a punch list of every room, area, nook and cranny, and surface in which you require design assistance. I will also inventory your existing furnishings, photograph your space, take detailed measurements and discuss your project budget and timeline.
step 2: schedule a consultation
I use all the information gathered during our meeting to establish a flat design fee based on the scope of work and present you with a design proposal outlining our services and fee. At this time we will also mutually agree to a ballpark budget before proceeding with the design work.
step 3: proposal
Now they we have agreed to work together I dive into space planning your room(s). I focus on size, proportion and function. We meet to review preliminary plans to ensure you explore the all the possible layout options your space could take on to select the furniture plan that best reflects how you live. We will also explore elevations of any focal walls or specialty built-ins needed to maximize the potential of your space.
step 4: SPACE PLANNING
All the busy work happens in the design studio! I sketch, measure, design, measure again, shop and source the best possible items for your individual needs and taste. During this phase we will review color scheme options and proceed at your pace. As we walk through all the possible directions your project could take, from conceptual to schematic, some directions will be scrapped while the selections that speak the loudest to you will be carefully considered during the next phase.
step 5: CONCEPTUALIZE
Now that we have a cohesive scheme in mind I am able to designate specific fabrics, finishes and materials to actual elements that will fill your space. I will layout your samples, objects and illustrations and walk you through the experience just as you would walk through each space. To help you feel confident with your selections I will also present you with a variety of furniture styles to choose from. This step in the process is a collaborative one ensuring your needs, tastes and expectations are met.
STEP 6: PRESENTATION
My eye for detail is reflected in custom furniture, decorative pillows and unique finishes that I obsess over. Now that we have finalized your furniture styles, upholstery prints and textures, fabric selections for drapery and pillows we dive into fine tuning the wood and metal finishes, trim placement and more. These custom details will set your home apart from what is readily available online and at local retail stores to create look that is layered, curated and most importantly reflective of your personality and style.
STEP 7: DETAILS
Now that all your items are agreed upon a deposit is issued and we place, manage and track orders on your behalf. During this phase we prepare purchase orders, check and double-check order information for accuracy, review acknowledgements, confirm lead times and expedite freight delivery. Once your items reach a local warehouse they are received, inspected and catalogued until we schedule your delivery and installation.
STEP 8: PROCUREMENT
Install day! This is an amazing, prized moment for us as we deliver the return on your investment and the value of our design services! We ask you leave your home while we style, accessorize, fluff and transform your house into a home. Aside from placing pretty possessions and arranging fresh flowers, members of the AGID team will be on site to direct furniture deliveries and placement; also coordinating with installers to hang drapery treatments, blinds, artwork, mirrors, and any other wall decor.
STEP 9: DELIVER AND INSTALL
Whether you are building a new home, in need of a full or partial remodel of your current home, or looking to build an addition I am here to assist you! step 1: INQUIRE
I invite you to my design studio to meet with my team to assess your wants, needs and desires for your new build or remodel. We’ll ask you a number of relevant questions regarding your ideas, thoughts, needs and desires for the space(s) that will ultimately influence how I conceive and execute the design. All the information gathered at our meeting will help me create a broad sense of who you are and what you want and ultimately set the tone for how we will work together in the future.
step 2: MEET
I use all the information gathered during our meeting to establish a flat design fee based on the scope of work and/or the square footage of your project and present you with a design proposal outlining our comprehensive services and fee. At this time we will also discuss budgets for labor and materials before proceeding with the design work.
step 3: PROPOSAL
I will pull together a variety of loose images to illustrate general design concepts for the direction of your project. I will also compile samples from fabric memos to inanimate objects to further communicate your color story and concept. The final concept selections will reflect your lifestyle and tastes to make up the design ‘DNA’ that will ultimately become your home.
step 4: conceptualize
My team will work with you and your builder and/or contractor to fine tune your set of architectural plans. We will also review preliminary elevations and layouts that show how each space will be put together. After careful reflection on the concept, I begin the exploration of transforming the ‘DNA’ into specific elements that will fill each space. During this time I dive into modifying architectural elements; rendering electrical plans and elevations; creating illustrations for custom designs and details, from furniture to floor coverings and fabric to fixtures to loosely establish elements around which each room will be designed.
step 5: space planning
Now that we have finalized your spaces we get to work selecting finishes and fixtures from flooring to hardware and everything in between. No detail is left untouched! We partner with local trade sources to select the best possible options for your budget and style including but not limited to: materials (flooring, wall tile, hard surface, hardware), finishes (stain, paint, wallpaper, plaster), millwork (baseboards, casing, crown molding, doors, cabinetry), and fixtures (plumbing, appliances, lighting).
STEP 6: SOURCING
During the construction documentation phase it’s all about the details. The success of our projects can be traced to the preparation of accurate technical drawings and site plans. Here at AGID we are able to provide construction and architectural document in house or partner with architectural firms to provide you with the highest level of service in the most effluence manner possible. The blueprints prepared for each project enable the contractors, craftsman and tradespeople to execute the design from our precisely detailed documentation.
STEP 7: DRAWING AND DOCUMENTATION
Once the selections are ordered, millwork is in production and the plans have been approved we stay involved with the builder and/or contractor from start to finish ensuring our vision is executed. Project management is imperative during the construction phase to completing the project on time, within budget and with integrity and transparency. We keep track of materials and fixtures on order, schedule deliveries to the job site, manage the schedule of trade work and installations, and oversee the craftsmanship of each individual tradesperson.
STEP 8: PROJECT MANAGEMENT
We made it! I review every last detail from cabinet hardware placement to your robe hook location before revealing your new home to you.
